Magazine mock drawing
I have drawn a mock up of what I wish my magazine advert to look like. This way, I can then create another draft version using images off the internet so I have something to replicate when I take my own images. I would like this to be a full length photograph of the girl, with a beautifully crisp image. Seeing as I have titled the album 'Alone at the Station', I plan to take this at a train station, on the platform. I may change this to more of a mid shot, but I will definitely play around with shots when I take the images. I would like the girl to be in a long floaty dress, either white or black with bright red lipstick and flawless makeup, with curls at the bottom of her hair. I aim to have a very strong and powerful image.
In order to link all of my media texts, I would like the image on the magazine advert to be in the same location as the photo on the front of the album cover, just slightly different. This way, the texts will be recognizable to the audience, which would be very successful for advertising. When I was researching magazine adverts and digipaks, the most effective ones where where they had continued the same theme throughout, so this is what I would like to do.
The reason I chose a girl is because the song 'Anything' which we are doing for the music video, is about a girl and so I thought this would be representative.
I positioned the album title at the top of the magazine ad. This will be in a simple sans serif font as I don't want the text to distract away from the photograph. Underneath I have written 'A brand new album from' and then under that it reads 'Catfish and the Bottleman'. The reason I separated the two lines is for effect, because then the attention is drawn to the artist. At the bottom, I have placed 'Featuring best selling single Anything' at the bottom because if people had heard of the single, they will then want to buy the album and relate the single to the artist. I put 'Coming soon' at the bottom, so that this means there isn't a definite date which means the audience will keep a look out for the release of the album.
