High School Musical 2 analysis
For the first stage of our planning for the preliminary task, we decided from a selection of different music videos provided by our teacher, which one we wanted to work on. My group, which consisted of Amy, Will and I, decided on the High School Musical 2 clip 'What time is it'.
After selecting the track we wanted to analyse, we then decided to choose the first 60 seconds. Seeing as there were 3 of us in the group we decided to each take 20 seconds of the clip. Amy did 0-20 seconds, I did 20-40 seconds and Will did 30-40 seconds. We each took screenshots of each different shot in our given extract and analysed who was in the frame, what shot was used and what lyrics were used. This will enable us to easily replicate the each of the shots to create a version that will hopefully, be similar to the original.
Below, I have inserted each of my group members work as well as my own to provide as evidence that we have analysed each shot in detail. My group and I have discussed what is required in each scene by coming up with a storyboard. This task will hopefully give me an insight into what planning, timing, props and equipment is needed when creating a music video and hopefully I can learn from any mistakes made in the prelim so that I can avoid making the same mistakes again in my final music video.
